Throughout the trajectory of his career, from serving as the Personal Assistant to Dr. Kayode Fayemi for eight years during his tenure as Governor of Ekiti State and subsequently Minister of Solid Minerals Development, to his current role as Deputy Chief of Staff to the incumbent Ekiti State Governor, Tolu Ibitola’s major goal remains driving sustainable impact through his roles. He sees challenges as an opportunity to be innovative and creative.
Tolu Ibitola is the current Deputy Chief Of Staff and Personal Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State. He is also the present Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Tolu Ibitola handles strategic administrative roles in the Government of Ekiti State coupled with human resources management. He served as the Personal Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Administration and Communications (December 2010-2014) where he facilitated Strategic planning and the implementation of agreed internal processes to deliver on the administrations’ agenda.
Tolu Ibitola worked closely with the then Minister of Mines and Steel Development in the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between 2015 and 2018. During his stay, he assisted the administration’s efforts in repositioning the Nigerian Mining sector to contribute optimally to the priority agendas of diversifying the country’s revenue base and creating jobs and economic opportunities for Nigerians.
During this time as the Minister, his principal concurrently served as Chairman of the governing board of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), where he passionately combined roles and assignments given to him.
Tolu Ibitola holds degrees in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from the Robert Gordon University and a Bachelor of Science (BSC.) in Political Science, University of Ado-Ekiti. He also had his Executive Masters at the Harvard Law School on Advanced Negotiation. His exemplary character and humanitarian spirit endears him to great minds while he exhibits discretion and trust in every responsibility reposed on him. With his deep-rooted personality in emotional intelligence, he offers effortless proficiency in strong intrapersonal and interpersonal communications as well as an effective ability to deploy resources for real-time solutions at any given time.
